Anxiety & Postpartum Therapist in California and Colorado

Hi, I’m Susan Hea Jin Ko, LMFT.
I’m glad you’re here.

Susan Hea Jin Ko, a licensed marriage and family therapist specializing in anxiety, postpartum mental health, and emotional overwhelm

Meet Susan

If you’re used to being the one who holds everything together, it can feel unfamiliar to admit when you’re overwhelmed. Many of the women I work with are thoughtful, capable, and deeply committed to their families and careers. From the outside, they appear to be managing well. Internally, they may feel anxious, mentally exhausted, or unsure how to slow down without falling behind.

Therapy can become a steady place where you don’t have to perform or keep pushing through. Instead, we focus on helping you feel more grounded, emotionally supported, and clearer about how to move through this season of life.

I provide online therapy throughout California and Colorado for high-achieving women and working moms navigating postpartum anxiety, fertility stress, burnout, and major life transitions. This includes support during IVF, pregnancy loss, early parenthood, and identity shifts that can feel difficult to process while managing daily responsibilities.

My approach is warm, structured, and insight-oriented. Together, we combine practical coping tools with deeper emotional exploration so therapy feels both supportive and useful in real life. Over time, many clients notice feeling calmer in their nervous system, more present in their relationships, and more confident managing the mental load of motherhood and professional life.

As both a therapist and a mom, I understand how pregnancy and postpartum can reshape your sense of self. I have advanced training in perinatal mental health and am currently pursuing the Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C) through Postpartum Support International. My clinical work focuses on supporting women through fertility journeys, postpartum adjustment, high-functioning anxiety, and relationship stress during major transitions.

As a 1.5-generation Korean immigrant who grew up between cultures, I also understand how family expectations and cultural dynamics can influence emotional experiences. Therapy can be a space where these layers are explored with care, helping you feel both understood and supported toward change.

Many women reach out when anxiety becomes more constant, stress feels harder to manage, or they feel disconnected from the version of themselves they want to be. Starting therapy earlier can help build emotional steadiness before burnout deepens.
