WHAT TO EXPECT

Beginning therapy can feel both hopeful and intimidating especially if you’ve been carrying a lot on your own. My goal is to make the process feel simple, safe, and supportive from the very first step.

Here’s what you can expect when we work together.

A Gentle, Grounding First Conversation

We’ll start with a free 15-minute telephone consultation.
This is a warm, low-pressure space where you can share what you’ve been experiencing, ask questions, and get a sense of my style. Together, we’ll determine whether we’re the right fit for your needs.

There’s no expectation to commit… just an opportunity to connect.

Your First Session
(Intake Session)

Your first full session is called an intake session, and it’s designed to gently help us understand where you are, what you’re carrying, and what you need moving forward. It’s a warm, collaborative conversation not an interview or test and you don’t need to prepare anything in advance.

During this intake session, we’ll talk about:

  • what brings you to therapy

  • what you’ve been feeling emotionally and physically

  • your history with anxiety, stress, or postpartum experiences

  • your support system and daily challenges

  • what you hope to gain from therapy

I guide the conversation so you never feel lost, pressured, or overwhelmed. If you’re unsure where to start, that’s completely okay most clients feel that way in the beginning. I’ll ask gentle, thoughtful questions to help you share at your own pace.

We’ll also go over:

  • confidentiality

  • how telehealth sessions work

  • scheduling and frequency

  • any goals or intentions you may have

  • what feels most important to focus on first

By the end of the intake session, you’ll leave with a clear sense of direction, a deeper understanding of what’s going on inside you, and a feeling of being seen, supported, and not alone.

Together, we’ll create a plan that feels safe, manageable, and tailored to your needs especially if you’re navigating postpartum emotions, mother overload, anxiety, or life transitions.

My Style in Session

Clients often describe my approach as:

  • Gentle yet direct: I’ll support you with warmth while also offering honest, grounding guidance when you need clarity.

  • Warm, nurturing, and grounding: a steady space where you can breathe and simply be human.

  • Safe, validating, and reassuring: your feelings are welcome here, even the ones you think are “too much.”

  • Clear and structured when needed: you won’t be left wondering what to do or where we’re going.

  • Human and relatable: I bring my authentic self into the room; yes, we may laugh, acknowledge the chaos of life, or share a “same, honestly” moment.

  • Gently humorous: nothing forced, but enough lightness to help you feel at ease and remind you that you don’t have to be perfect here.

  • Emotionally supportive and practical: we’ll explore your patterns, build real coping tools, and create meaningful, doable shifts in your everyday life.

You’ll never feel judged and you’ll never be left without direction.
